snow people soul people
made in shadow and shade
the toe-space buried in winter― 
paws to passerby

Winter's eye, like the lens of the camera, swoops in to seize in the same space what can't be grasped in its disappearances. In its disappearances arise  mythopotoes.

chthonic twin
femininity
an old moon

great trees live heavy-snowed
great trees live broken-limbed


great longing
bony and hunting
my soul lives

a great season of years
a great wilderness life
