The ship of the sun
driven by the grateful dead,
driven far from the addled winds of war
driven far from the rising nebula of nam
lead the grateful who really are
grateful
and summer changes.
Hipsters of haight flower
in the haight of summer. And in the heat
in the haight lives a beat
that nobody need approve.
Down low is the flowering
where the beat goes on―and the beat
goes on.
