GLOBAL STABILITY

The Moon's gravity imparts tremendous energy to the Earth, raising
tides throughout the global oceans.  The quick time animation, courtesy of the Scientific Visualization Studio at the Goddard Space Flight Center shows what happens to this energy. What happens is called tidal energy dissipation.  The wind contributes to this energy
