how to embody that heart

in that light

wanting, out

as it exits to rejoin the whole

many year old self, line the heart

line by line with intellect

wanting, out, extinguished

love rightly moving the terrain here

embraced by an eternal, imperishable

nature, the one

that wants y-o-u

"out"

your imagination

fired up

say thank you & go

don't forget your hat

The poem is titled “soft terror” to accent the early origin of this goddess in the mythologem of the mountain mother, Artemis. The Mother of Mountains is perhaps the earliest aspect of the Cretan goddess.  Given this context makes her “unusual” pet one that possesses the demon-like features of the gorgon.

TO THE GODDESS IN MY MUSING LIFE: The Uncut Stone

ONCE UPON A BLUE NIGHT

Slung over one shoulder, a moon
jumpin over the edge of June
right into July, august in the sky
Lived under moon thunderer’s boon

You see…

Born in a month of fish
worlds rejoiced as it cried
and in a month of fish how worlds abide
happily fed and happily t(r)ied
and more than happily fished

You see…

Livin’ this life where it died
worlds will also have cried
to the edge of its June & its watering moon
full-filling our great earth dish
